When something is so bad you have to quit but you know someones life depends on you staying, you might want to reconsider. Despite the fact that Kim was working for Abe, she hated it. She wasn't happy, no matter how much she tried to get that part of herself to believe that she was. She got paid good money to do the work but she didn't get any happiness out of it, not even a little bit of satisfaction, she just did it because of the money.
When Kim decided to stay for Abe's sake, she did what was best for him and for her life, but still she did it with some reservations. Abe was her boss and he told her to stay so he could benefit from her help when he needed it. And when Kim realized what it would mean if she actually quit, she realized that there was no way in hell she would be able to live with herself if she did such a thing.
